In a minute...

Ok, so I haven't written on this blog "in a minute", honestly between all that has been going on in my life, both good and bad - I put this and my other blogs on the back burner.

To to real though, this blog has a space in my heart which has grown even bigger now. The point of starting this blog was never to "prove" my ties with the hood or to spoof or make fun of it's current inhabitants..no the sole purpose of this blog was - and is- to expose ignorance for what it is and help those trapped within it's walls to escape...taking along the best parts with them and leaving the rest behind.

Why?

Ok I know I don't post here as much as I'd like ...Especially since the truth is that Ghetto is all around us....

I had to share this true story from my visit back home...(Brooklyn NY)

My sister came to pick me up at the airport exasperated. Apparently a young woman on the subway who appeared to be fine...Suddenly began to roll her eyes in the back of her head and just as suddenly dropped..like a ragdoll...to the floor. This poor young woman then defecated and urinated on herself... several frantic minutes later, while passengers were trying to notify the conductor and get the train to stop and call an ambulance - the woman came to. She had no idea what had just happened to her, and as one could only imagine, she was thoroughly embarrassed.

It's was bad enough that this woman...obviously ill and understandably feeling mortified as she sat in her own urine and feces...had to put up with on lookers that did not even give her the respect of turning away....Why did one "ghetto" woman have to scream out "EWWWW THAT B** JUST *#&$(MADE ON) HERSELF!"

...Why? Why? Why?...

People are taking "ghetto" to a whole new level ya'll...and that's just "ill".

Are you Kidding???!!!!

Ok...so my daughter was in a Cotillion last Saturday...you kno ....its a special event where the young ladies and gentlemen are trained in the ways of becoming a young adult. They learn etiquette, how to dance, how to prepare for a job interview and stuff like that. Afterwards they are presented to society in grand style in this elaborate ball which they wear long beautiful gowns and formal tuxedos.... she was in this thing and it was lovely and she was beautiful( Go grrl)...

She had a few friends that were in it with her, too...so why after this whole beautiful, formal event was over, did some girls come over to one of my daughter's friends talking about they wanna fight??!! Mind you my daughter and her friend are in white ballgowns!! Not to mention...the event was held at the community center of a local church!! The whole thing just ended in this big big ugly arguement but really....

that's what I call Ghetto Foolishness!!

Why?

Ghet To Fabulous...Going from Ghetto to fabulous while till keeping it real (It's trademarked ..so show respect...)

Basically growing up in Brooklyn and having fine examples of what to do and definitely what not to do - I wanted to have a site where people could be hood, be successful and still be themselves.

And if for whatever reason You ain't where you wanna be and you think its because you are a product of your environmet ..I'm here to tell you the real....
